Broadway belongs on stage. Or does it?
Musical theatre is meant to be experienced live, the energy of the crowd, the intimacy of being in the room where it happens. But not everyone can afford tickets to New York or London, and even the most dedicated fans can't see every show.
Existing platforms like Marquee TV, Great Performances, and The Broadway Channel offered performing arts content, but they covered everything from opera to ballet to drama. There wasn't a channel dedicated exclusively to musicals. Center Stage was created to fill that gap.

The design challenge
Making theatre feel accessible without losing its magic
The brand needs to capture the grandeur and emotion of live performance while feeling warm and welcoming for home viewing. It has to honor the magic of the stage without intimidating viewers watching from their couches.

Logo Exploration
Looking for warmth, presence, and a clear connection to theatre.
Early drafts tested literal stage elements and heavy typography. The goal was to avoid overused masks and curtains, aiming instead for a clean, scalable symbol that translates clearly to a broadcast environment and digital menus.

The Chosen Direction
The three arcs represent the "house", the audience's place in theatre.
The final logo is built around a simple but meaningful idea: the three curved arcs symbolize the seating layout of a theatre, known as the "house". This connects directly to the brand promise of putting viewers in the best seat.
The shape is instantly recognizable as theatrical while feeling welcoming and inclusive, a visual reminder that every viewer has a place in the performance.

The Visual System
Designing high-contrast elements for television interfaces
The color palette uses vibrant values optimized specifically for dark screens. To support this, a single typeface relies on varying weights to balance brand authority in headings with maximum legibility in dense digital schedules.

Translating brand geometry into a modular broadcast grid
The logo’s curved geometry dictates the on-screen branding grid. This scalable system utilizes staggered arcs to frame show titles and schedules across television interfaces. It ensures critical broadcast metadata remains legible without obstructing the live performance footage.
